We're Excited about Cape Ann's Newest Addition - the Beauport Hotel!

Last week, the owners of the Beauport Hotel announced they were targeting an opening date of May 27, the Friday of Memorial Day weekend. What better way to kick off the summer than the opening of Gloucester’s new waterfront boutique hotel?

For those who have seen the 40 million dollar construction project turn the dilapidated former Birdseye building site into an gambrel-roofed oceanside retreat but aren’t yet too familiar with what the Beauport Hotel will offer, there’s a lot to be excited about!

The stately oceanfront experience will offer 94 classically designed guest rooms, a full-service al-fresco oceanfront restaurant and lounge, as well as meeting and event spaces. Beauport Gloucester will also feature a roof deck with a pool, jacuzzi, and bar. It’s not hard to imagine yourself drinking a cocktail while sitting in a jacuzzi, taking in a spectacular sunset over Gloucester’s beautiful waterfront - and now it’s within reach. 

The hotel will feature a vast array of business and personal amenities such as high speed Internet, a business center, fitness center, concierge services, spa services, complimentary use of beach and pool chairs with towel service, daily newspapers in the lobby, complimentary hotel shuttle within a 3-mile radius, and valet parking. 

Naturally, guests will have a choice between several different types of elegant, tasteful accommodations available for reservation at the hotel. The Beauport’s city view, water view, and oceanfront rooms offer 300 square feet of living, with a choice of king bed or two queens (all with pillowtop mattresses), luxury bed linens, non-allergenic pillows, oversized cotton bath towels, and plush bathrobes. The marble accented bathrooms feature a large shower and luxury bath products.

Perhaps the most-needed resource on Cape Ann is the ample and flexible business, convention, and meeting spaces at the Beauport - what will become, at opening, the largest conference space on Cape Ann. Featuring space for up to 400 attendees and 10,000 square feet of event space with sweeping views of both the city and the Atlantic, the hotel will help put Gloucester in the spotlight for business travel and planning. The hotel even features an Event Services Team, who will handle every detail, from planning, catering, booking guest accommodations and transportation, to scheduling and coordinating custom off-site functions and gatherings such as golf tournaments, fishing trips, dinner cruises and team-building programs.

The largest of the four event and meeting spaces is the 3,327-square-foot Beauport Grand Ballroom. The Ballroom is rich with imposing details such as hand crafted chandeliers, floor to ceiling glass windows, and doors that lead to an outdoor terrace designed to reflect the hotel’s coastal elegance. The room can hold up to 369 people - one of the largest spaces in the area.

Next, the Pavilion Room is perfect for informal or formal events. It boasts an adjacent private veranda for cocktail receptions, with incredible views of the Outer Harbor and the Atlantic Ocean. Also, the Pavilion’s Foyer is ideal for cocktail parties. The smaller Harbor Room is perfect for more intimate gatherings of up to 120 atendees, and can also be subdivided for smaller meeting spaces. The hotel will feature business-grade audio visual equipment perfect for holding conferences or presentations.

 There’s also an option to take the party outside! The Oceanside Terrace is a 38’x45’ outdoor event deck that overlooks Pavilion Beach and the Atlantic shoreline. 

The grandiose meeting and event spaces aren’t entirely for business use, however - the Beauport will soon become one of the area’s premier wedding destinations. Although the hotel has four available event spaces, it promises that only one wedding will be held at a time - making sure every bride and groom truly has their special day. Couples can also choose to have onsite ceremonies either indoors or outdoors on the spectacular Oceanside Terrace.

Onsite catering for weddings is provided by the hotel, and dining options will amaze and delight guests. Passed hors d’ouvre plates have options such as Cape Ann Lobster Salad on buttered brioche, Filet Mignon crostini with arugula pesto and sweet onion red wine jam, or Manchego Risotto on an edible spoon with chive oil, cress and parmesan dust. Hors d’ouvre stations such as a sushi station, cosmo bar, raw bar, or charcuterie board provides alternative options for guests.

Of course, the dinner entree options for weddings at the Beauport sound absolutely heavenly. For instance, a dinner of Pan Seared Sliced Beef Tenderloin, Butter Poached Lobster Tail, Mushroom and Asparagus Ragout with Chive Mashed Potatoes, or perhaps Ipswich Ale Braised Short Ribs with Herb Crusted Grilled Shrimp, Bacon and Black Truffled Macaroni and Cheese and Oven Roasted Asparagus. Why not try Mustard Brined Porterhouse Pork Chop with Honey Roasted Apples, Layered Gruyere Potato Gratin and Roasted Brussels Sprouts? All in all, there are over 20 entree options for weddings. There are also exquisite late-night snack options such as as mac and cheese martini bar, a take-out chinese food station, make your own sliders, or even a sausage cart!

No wonder brides and grooms are flocking to book their big day at the Beauport Hotel. According to the hotel’s management, the first wedding at the hotel has already been confirmed for Saturday, July 2 - and nearly 100 weddings have already been booked at the venue.

We can’t wait for the Beauport Hotel to open  - not only providing Cape Ann with a boutique hotel experience, but an upscale wedding and meeting event space. Best of all? The 150 full time, year round jobs the hotel expects to fill - with more seasonal summer staff as well. What’s not to love about Gloucester’s newest addition?
